About The Artist - Page 1:
Michele was born and raised near Johannesburg, in South Africa. Her family has a background richly steeped in art, and encouraged her to take up painting at a young age. Michele majored in Art at High School, and from there went on to study Industrial Design. She developed her unique style of painting while studying graphics for design rendering. After completing her design diploma, Michele realized she enjoyed the process of making as much as designing – so she went back to College part time to do an associates diploma in Mechanics. Michele went on from there to obtain a Bachelors Degree (Honors) in Operations Research. In November 1998, Michele and her husband moved to the United States on an Engineering assignment. Michele used this opportunity to further develop her interest of jewelry, with access to new studios and working artists.
